ZTE May Officially Announce Mozilla OS Smartphone at MWC 2013
ZTE has previously quietly announced three devices; the Grand Memo phablet, Blade C smartphone and V81 tablet. ZTE didn’t really announce the fourth device, ZTE Mozilla. The company simply created a new hashtag, the #ZTEMozilla for users to follow. We know that the company is planning to release a device running the Firefox OS and it’s sensible to assume that we would get some sort of announcement or even see a prototype at MWC 2013. It’s not clear how the phone may look like, but it’s believed that the operating system will be used mainly for affordable devices.
Sources have put together of two probable Mozilla smartphones. The Keon is a entry-level model powered by a woefully outdated 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 single-core processor. Other details are far from impressive; 3.5” HVGA display, 512MB of RAM, 3Mp rear-facing camera, 1580mAh battery and 4GB of internal storage.
The Peak is a budget mid-range smartphone, with 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 4.3” qHD display, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of onboard storage, 8Mp rear-facing camera, 2Mp front-facing snapper and 1800mAh battery.
