Sony fans have many things to be excited about with the company’s upcoming flagship, the Xperia Z. One thing that may disappoint them is the fact that it will ship with an older version of Jelly Bean, Android 4.1. While there’s nothing bad with the Android 4.1, consumers habitually want only to get the latest of everything.
Fortunately, there’s a hope for them as Sony may immediately roll out the Android 4.2 update soon after the phone’s official release. A Sony official said in Twitter that the Z will not be staying with Android 4.1 for too long.
While there’s painfully too little detail on this subject, it should still get any Sony fans excited nonetheless. The Japanese company will launch the Xperia Z globally in Q1 2013 and as we are already halfway through January, the phone will surely arrive soon. When the Xperia Z does finally arrive, we can look forward to an impressive 5” 1080 full-HD display and a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor under the hood.
