Once again, the GLBenchmark has revealed yet another unannounced Samsung smartphone, with model number SCH-I425. The phone may be heading towards Verizon’s subscribers. The original Stratosphere (SCH-I405) was released in 2011 and Stratosphere II (SCH-I415) in 2012. Consequently, the SCH-I425 could be the Stratosphere III. At this moment, the phone is simply codenamed as Godiva.
Few details have been revealed about the smartphone, but the Godiva could have a 720p display of unknown size, 1.4GHz processor and Jelly Bean OS (Android 4.1.2). While the display and processor used are nowhere near being impressive, they still a good step up from the Samsung Stratosphere II.
After all, the Stratosphere II features only a 1.2GHz single-core processor and 4” WVGA. As we are entering further into 2013, this would be a good time for Samsung and Verizon to release a successor. The phone may follow the pattern set by previous Stratosphere devices, which is a release during the fall.
