Samsung Galaxy V Plus is Announced
Once known for its diverse smartphone models, Samsung is now slimming down its portfolio. The South Korean company continues to refresh its offerings across different market niches. One of the newest models is the Samsung Galaxy V Plus and it has been unveiled recently in Malaysia.
The phone is a low-end model with only a 4-inch TFT panel and 800 x 480 model. It will have only 2GB of internal storage, 512MB of RAM and a dual-core processor running at 1.2GHz. The microSD card slot could support up to 64GB of additional storage. It is essential, considering that the phone only has limited internal storage.
Complementing the 3Mp rear-facing camera is a .3Mp selfie snapper positioned above the display. The main camera supports 480p video recording and supported by LED flash. Under the rear cover, there’s a 1500mAh battery and there’s only 3G connectivity on board. Like many entry-level devices, the Galaxy V Plus is also equipped with a couple of SIM card slots.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the phone has Samsung TouchWiz UI software on top of Android 4.4 KitKat. The phone will be available initially in Malaysia, with $82 price tag. There are two color options, white and classic black.
