The Huawei Ascend W1 was an interesting Windows Phone handset, although it is still unable to tip the scales with its hardware features. And now, we hear a new rumor about the next model in the lineup, the Ascend W2.
The phone is designed as a direct upgrade to the Ascend W2, with 4.3″ 720p display, 8 MP rear facing camera, 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 1GB of WAM and 2000 mAh battery. This seems to be in line with the majority of Windows Phone 8 smartphones. The phone was expected to arrive on November 2012, which is obviously long gone. Some believed that Huawei simply scrapped the Ascend W2 to focus more on the earlier Ascend W1.
However, it becomes clear that Huawei need a stronger model to take on other powerful Windows Phone 8 smartphones in the market including the HTC 8X, Samsung ATIV S and particularly Nokia Lumia 920.
