Phone manufacturers are wasting their valuable times in CES 2013 teasing us with their upcoming lineups. Huawei announced that it will have a new smartphone model ready for next Mobile World Congress next month. The company will add a new phone model to its P-series lineup. The phone will have thinner form factor and sleek metallic body.
There are also rumors that Huawei is preparing the Ascend W3, a smartphone using Windows Phone 8 OS. The Chinese phone maker isn’t giving up on the race with other major maker and it will also release a phone powered by 8-core processor. Previously, Samsung announced the eventual availability of its in-house 8-core processor, the Exynos 5 Octa.
The eight-core smartphone is believed deliver 70 percent lower power consumption compared to quad-core models. Also, based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture and Cortex-A15 cores, Huawei’s offering will have some similarities with Samsung’s design.
