Archos Will Unveil Its First Smartphone Models
Archos is best known as the maker of budget Android tablets. Apparently, this may change soon as the company is preparing its first smartphone models. To be specific, there are three of them and each will be running Android OS.
The Archos 4.8 Platinum is a Samsung Galaxy S3 look-alike with the similarly-sized 4.8″ 1280 x 800 IPS display and 1.7 GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad core processor. Another interesting detail is its low $335 price tag. The phone will run Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) OS. The performance level won’t be quite in par with the Galaxy S3 with its fast Exynos 4412, but it should still usable for daily uses.
The Archos 52 Titanium may look like a more improved handset with its 5.2″ display, but it is actually a less capable model with WVGA display resolution and 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Archos 35 Carbon is the cheapest model with 3.5″ HVGA display and 1 GHz single core processor.
