Sources from upstream supply chain in Asia recently reported that Apple will launch three new iPhone models in 2013. Two will be available in June followed by the third, later in 2013. The iPhone 5S will be released along with a much larger model, the Apple iPhone Math with its 4.8” display. It’s believed that Apple has ordered millions of 8Mp camera lens from Largan Precision for use on both iPhone models.
The third model with have 12Mp rear-facing camera and to be released before this year’s holiday season begins. There’s also report that next iPhone models will have fingerprint scanner built into the physical Home button. These sources also said that producers will start shipping cameras, touchscreen displays and other components in March; and the actual production phase should begin in April. Much of the assembly tasks will be assigned to Foxconn. As always, we should take any high-profile rumor with a healthy dose of salt.
