Samsung Z1 Tizen

Samsung Will Introduce the Low-Cost Z1 Tizen in January

Samsung Z1 TizenSamsung Z1 Tizen (SM-Z130H) could be delayed until January next year due to an unknown reason, specifically on January 18. India could be the country where the phone is initially released. An official from Samsung says that the Z1 would be about $90 or less. In January, consumers in India could purchase the phone from Samsung’s current sales networks, such as physical and online stores.

Overall, the Z1 is another low-end device from Samsung and it should fight off a horde of ultra affordable mobile devices in the market. The Samsung Z1 should be equipped with 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz Spreadstrum dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, VGA front-facing camera, 3.2Mp rear-facing camera, dual SIM slots, WiFi and 3G data connections.

Tizen is considered an open source platform with higher degree of openness even compared to Android. Samsung has developed the Tizen into something that many users would be comfortable with. As an example, the interface should be quite similar to the TouchWiz UI. With the arrival of so many ultra-cheap devices in the market, Samsung may need a sub-$100 to have a presence in this market segment.
