BlackBerry could be working on a cheaper variant of the Q10 and Z10. The rumor started when a photo circulated online through web forums, showing an affordable and yet-unconfirmed BlackBerry smartphone. The phone comes with a QWERTY physical keyboard. It is also said that BlackBerry is preparing a direct successor to the Curve family called the R-series, which runs the BlackBerry 10 OS. Actually, we have heard about an affordable BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
Such a device was spotted in December last year, which has lower retail price, but rather inferior hardware specs. Little is known about the hardware components used, we have heard murmur about 1,800mAh cell, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The image shows a front-facing camera and we can assume that there will be a rear-facing shooter as well. Unfortunately, there’s no way to know whether the device is real, or it is just a developers’ handset or scrapped prototype.
