According to latest reports, Nokia is prepping a sleeker, thinner and lighter version of the Nokia Lumia 920, codenamed the Catwalk. One noteworthy feature of the phone is an aluminum body, instead of the usual polycarbonate shell. Sources have also revealed that Nokia will release two other smartphones alongside the Catwalk.
The use of aluminum material will take the company back to its pre-Windows Phone days. For example, the Symbian-powered Nokia N8 also used aluminum material. This should allow Nokia to compete with the Apple iPhone in terms of weight and size. This isn’t possible on phones using polycarbonate material.
As for the release date, the device is likely to be released after the Mobile World Congress in February. The Nokia World Event is likely held in September or October, and the company usually takes the opportunity to introduce a new smartphone model.
