Based on initial rumors, the Huawei Ascend P2 could turn out to be a really decent handset and it is expected to appear officially at MWC 2013. Most of the specs unveiled were quite impressive, including a 1080p display. After the release of the Ascend D2 with its 5” 1080p display, we won’t be too surprised to hear that the P2 will have similar resolution for its 4.7” display. Other specs, such as 1.8GHz quad-core CPU, 13Mp rear-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and 2200mAh battery have also made many people get excited about the phone.
However, a recent rumor said that it will be downgraded to 720p. Obviously, this doesn’t sound like a sensible move considering recent high-end handsets are stepping up to 1080p displays. If this has been decided, at least the Ascend P2 will have less demanding requirements on the battery and the lower resolution can help designers to keep the phone slimmer.
