Samsung is looking to release a successor to the Galaxy Pocket, which offers marginally better features. Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus comes with similar overall design with the original phone. The Pocket Plus comes preinstalled with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) and a lightened version of TouchWiz UI to compensate for the less capable hardware.
One significant change is the use of 850MHz single-core Broadcom processor, 2.8” QVGA display, 512MB of RAM, 2Mp rear camera, 4GB of onboard storage, 1200mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, USB 2.0 port, FM radio and GPS. It’s not clear what the Galaxy Pocket Plus is all about, as the new processor seems to bring minimal improvement to the overall user experience.
Samsung may simply be planning to revamp the Pocket branding to restart sales rates. Unfortunately, Samsung does this rather dishonestly by delivering limited additional value to consumers. The Korean company is planning to release the phone soon.
