As the MWC 2013 is nearing, everyone is busy with the never-ending teaser game these days. Hardly a day passes without us being teased left and right about exciting, future products. Recently, Asus has also unveiled a rather peculiar device, a standalone smartphone that can turn into a full-fledged tablet.

In case you missed it, rumors reported that the smartphone unit has a 4.7” display that can be slotted into a much larger docking station, in the shape of a 10.1” tablet. With the Padfone 2, Asus manages to make the device lighter and less bulky.

But it’s still rather expensive though, while we will get a couple of device for the cash, many would a bit wary about spending about £500. MWC will begin early next month and by that time, we should find out about what Nokia and Huawei have to offer.
